Description

The incumbent is responsible for Business Development in the Agriculture Sector across Guyana. This encompasses market analysis, product development, sourcing, business expansion, and providing technical sales support. This role involves inspiring innovation in the sector and fostering capacity building for sustainable growth.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business Management, or another related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Business Development. Experience in Agriculture Business Development would be an asset.

  • A profound understanding of working with farmers, agricultural products, irrigation systems, and market dynamics in Guyana.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.

  • Assess the feasibility and market potential for new products whilst collaborating with suppliers/     manufacturers to secure innovative products and solutions.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders by consistently ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to farmers on a range of agricultural products.

  • Conduct site visits to customers and agents to support product installation or training.

  • Seek, explore, negotiate, and close new business opportunities.

  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to drive growth.

  • Prepare sales reports, and forecasts and develop proposals for clients.
