Description

  • Liaises with relevant landlord(s), as needed, to ensure that building infrastructure and maintenance strategies are implemented effectively to support a longer building life cycle.

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager on upcoming projects to ensure that facilities are designed to be cost-effective in terms of long-term maintenance after completion and handover.

  • Oversees fiscal Repairs & Renewals Projects at all facilities, ensuring completion ahead of Peak Season.

  • Ensures maintenance requests from all branches are addressed and resolved within the agreed timeline.

  • Ensures that all Supervisors complete monthly maintenance audits for their respective locations to track progress and implement preventative maintenance plans where applicable.

  • Addresses branch concerns and demands by adhering to relevant protocols, codes, and guidelines, and formulates written and verbal responses when required.

  • Develops and reviews maintenance plans that are realistic and achievable for the fiscal year, aligned with the approved budget.

  • Leads the implementation of IFMA (International Facility Management Association) best practices in both managerial and operational site activities.

  • Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and direct support as needed on matters related to performance management, team building, appraisals, objective setting, on-site discipline, rewards, and staff training and development.

  • Collaborates closely with the Health & Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Investigative Manager to ensure building quality and security meet company standards and relevant Building Codes.

  • Responds promptly to staff concerns or complaints with the intent of maintaining strong relationships with both staff and, when necessary, customers.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management or related discipline

  • A Facilities Management Diploma, Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation, or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification would be considered an asset

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Facilities Management, along with a solid understanding of fundamental bid management competencies

  • Strong understanding of electrical, plumbing and general infrastructure systems

  • Familiarity with building codes & regulations – ensure compliance with health, safety, and construction standards

  • Project management – oversee repairs, renewals, and capital improvement projects from planning through execution

Responsibilities

As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for managing all building-related operations, ensuring infrastructure is well-maintained, safe, and functional. Oversees maintenance plans, vendor coordination, facility audits, and repair projects. Works closely with internal teams to support operational efficiency, ensure compliance with building codes, and implement industry best practices in facility management across all locations.
