Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, assisting in kitchen operations, and mentoring junior staff. This role requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 Years of experience in a kitchen environment, with at least 2-3 in a cook or supervisory role.

  • Skills:

    • Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles.

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards.

  • Menu Execution: Follow recipes and menu specifications accurately; assist in the development of daily specials and seasonal menus.

  • Kitchen Leadership: Supervise and guide junior cooks and kitchen staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and tracking stock levels to minimize waste.

  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality and portion sizes; conduct regular checks to ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication.

  • Kitchen Maintenance: Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food storage areas; ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during food preparation and service, providing solutions to maintain efficiency.

    Working Conditions:

    • This position may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on operational needs.

    • A fast-paced kitchen environment; may involve standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
