Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Previous experience in HR administration or related roles in the oil and gas industry is a plus.

• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.

• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resource, Business Administration or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR assistant or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks. Support new employee onboarding, including document collection, orientation, and training coordination.

  • Employee Relations: Maintain employee records, ensure compliance with HR policies, and handle employee inquiries. Support the resolution of employee issues and conflicts by coordinating with the HR Coordinator.

  • Attendance & Payroll Support: Monitor and track employee attendance, vacation, and sick leave. Assist with payroll preparation by providing relevant data, such as hours worked, overtime, and deductions.

  • Training & Development: Coordinate training programs for employees in areas such as safety protocols, machinery operations, and company policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • HR Administration: Manage and maintain accurate employee records, including updating HR systems with new hire information, status changes, and terminations. Prepare HR-related documents, such as contracts, disciplinary letters, and reports.

  • Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with labour laws and safety regulations, particularly those specific to the oil and gas industry in Trinidad. Support HR management in policy updates and the implementation of company-wide compliance initiatives.

  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Assist in the administration of HSE programs and policies, ensuring that employees are trained on proper safety procedures, especially in relation to the operation of machinery and equipment in the machine shop and field.

  • General HR Support: Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including handling correspondence, preparing documents, and scheduling meetings. Assist with performance appraisals.
