Description

We are looking for an Airport Assistant to join our team in the growing market of Guyana.

The successful candidates will play a critical role in the handling and clearing of packages.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of preparation of customs documents will be an asset.

  • Assisting with customs clearance operations at the airport.

  • Able to handle cargo such as lifting, moving, and placing on shelves.

  • Knowledge of courier industry will be an asset.

  • 3 CXC passes including Mathematics and English language.

  • Valid Class 4 / Heavy-T Driver's license.

  • excellent driving record.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Team player.

  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

Receives or clear cargo.

Investigates the status of the cargo and later creates a plan to proceed.

Ensures preparation of all required documentation, inclusive manifests, cheques, and worksheets.

Receives and inspects cargo, immediately reporting and damages or missing bags, pieces, or items.

Clear cargo through Customs and Excise Department, adhering to the clearance process.

Clear shipments from Amerijet and Caribbean Airlines.

Records all daily clearance, inclusive of all exceptions and peculiarities.

Transport, sort, and store cargo and transport cargo safely from, Airport to Airport Warehouse.

Off loads all cargo correctly, taking necessary precautions.

Scans, verify the weight, sort packages, and adheres to storage procedures.

Maintains safety of the cage, warehouse, and vehicles

Inspects vehicle daily before signing out for use and upon return.

Observes tablet and scanner are are in good working condition.
