A Sanitation Officer at W&T George Group of Companies Ltd is involved in all initiatives relating to cleaning, sanitation and hygiene according to control procedures, to ensure that the facility is in compliance with all company, local and general sanitation standards. She/he participates in all sanitation activities performed on the premises and continuously informs Sanitation Supervisor of the level inventory and supplies. She/he also reports suspicious behavior or breaches in safety regulation on the property to the C.S.O or Property Manager.
This position demands good physical and mental health. The Sanitation Officer must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, feeling and repetitive motions. In addition, he/she must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The Sanitation Officer should be a fast learner in his/her field, who follows instruction make recommendations to improve processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills also help with this function. The Sanitation Officer typically works a standard eight-hour schedule. Overtime and non-traditional hours may be required. He/she must always present themself in a kind, professional way to employees, customers, contractors and patients. He must also be able to handle difficult encounters in a pleasant and reserved manner.
Selected candidate for this position must have:
A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Sanitation personnel/handyman or functioned in similar capacity in an established industry.
The candidate should have a sound secondary education, with ability to ability to read and write.
This person’s primary interest should be directly linked to achieving maximum efficiency, and total customer/client/patient satisfaction.
In addition, this person should have demonstrated ability to work independently or with others while multi-tasking various responsibilities in order to perform the duties required.
Work according to sanitation Schedule and on demand jobs
Works closely with Supervisor and production personnel on sanitation problems recommending changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures, and standards
Work closely with Supervisor on chemical changes/sanitation improvements, results and costs related to the company’s sanitation.
Actively cooperate in pest monitoring and control program by executing pest control while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance including dismantling and executing all sanitation activities
Cleans area around cans and picks up loose trash and litter along street.
Assists with dumping solid waste in garbage bins at transfer site.
Takes steps to ensure the safety of coworkers and other sanitation related contractors.
Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
Make suggestions that can improve quality and appearance
Carry out special projects as directed by the Supervisor and C.S.O or Property Manager.
Assist in all work being performed by outside contractors.
Responsible for alerting the C.S.O or Property Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.
Maintain a professional courteous manner with all customers, contractors, and fellow employees.
Complete or assist in the make-ready process of vacant office/space as directed by the C.S.O or or Property Manager.
Communicate effectively with customers, staff, Supervisor and management.
Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City and the Country guidelines as a whole.
Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
Follow established company policies.
Ensure all Sanitation equipment is working properly.
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and effective manner.
Shut down working or project areas according to guidelines.
Participate in meetings and workshops.
Perform additional duties assigned.
The Sanitation Officer will be expected to work within all entities of W & T George & Company Ltd. The Sanitation Officer will take responsibility for damages and losses that occur as a result of their negligence or failure to follow guidelines and company policies.
