The Role
We are on the lookout for a Project Commercial Manager/Cost Control Manager to join our team on an expatriate assignment, who will be responsible for providing commercial/contract management, procurement and cost & value management services onsite at our project in Guyana. You will play a key role in developing the onsite team as well as oversee the financial aspects of the project, manage procurement, manage contracts, and ensure profitability by identifying opportunities, negotiating deals, and managing costs, ultimately contributing to the company's success.
The Commercial Manager will be instrumental in the set up and success of our project in Guyana so this role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked overseas in a similar position or someone with a solid background in Quantity Surveying who has been working at a senior level and is ready to step up into a Managerial position.

Key Responsibilities
Provide support for the submission of pre-qualification and tenders (as required) to secure future workload
Prepare and update tender/construction risk management evaluations
Securing financial instruments, such as tender, performance and retention bonds, advance payment guarantees, contract and professional indemnity insurance policies
Ensuring timely notifications and pursuing Entitlement to Claims for Additional Time and Costs. Ensuring records are kept up to date in SharePoint collaborator, including the preparation of particulars, loss and expense, and the requisite corroboration
Preparing Monthly progress reports for submission to the Employer
Managing the DAB along with organising visits and required documentation
Internal reporting of budget, cost versus value, weekly monthly and quarterly cashflow forecasts
Dialogue with the operational lead in respect of constructive challenge
Training, developing and managing the team of Quantity Surveying staff
Procurement of Subcontractors, Consultants and Materials (excluding early / long lead packages)
Any other Contracts/Commercial/Procurement tasks as required
Ensuring timely and accurate file management for all Commercial documentation held in SharePoint
Client, Employer and Engineer relationship management
Ensuring the Project Quantity Surveyor undertakes their duties in respect of procurement, interim payments / applications and subcontractor payments timely and in line with contractual / programme requirements
Your Experience & Skills
Essential Criteria
Experience of professional Caribbean/CARICOM or LATAM exposure
Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Engineering/Building or similar
10+ years of experience in commercial, contract management and quantity surveying
2+ years of experience at senior project level, leading on cost / value management, claims preparation and dispute resolution
Administration of FIDIC contracts
Desirable Criteria
Membership or willing to work/working towards Chartered Membership of RICS
Involvement in dispute resolution forums; DAB Referrals, Mediation, Adjudication, Arbitration and/or Litigation
Previous experience of working overseas
