Description

To provide support in the upkeep and maintenance of the Agency’s offices, buildings and surroundings.

Working hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays

Requirements

Qualifications and Work Experience:

1.  Basic reading and writing skills

2. At least one (1) year of experience in a similar position.

3. Basic building maintenance knowledge.

 

Competencies:

1. Good interpersonal skills.

2. Courteous, pleasant, and respectful disposition in keeping with approved workplace decorum.

3. Should always be cognizant of his use of language, voice level, actions, and body language in the work environment and self-aware of public impression.

4  . Ability to be a self-starter in adhering to completion of scheduled duties.

  1. Should always exercise care in the execution of her duties to preserve the assets of the Agency.  

Responsibilities

1.    To perform minor carpentry and electrical works.

2.    To painting of offices and other areas as necessary.

3.    Disposal of garbage.

4.    Beautifying and upkeeping the of compound and buildings, e.g., cleaning of drains, weeding of compound and its surroundings, etc.

5.    Assist with the movement of items purchased for the Agency.

6.    Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment to and from offices.

7.    Assist with reproducing, collating and distributing of documents.

8.    Assist with the delivery and collection of supplies to and from EPA.

9.    Assist with general upkeep of offices and compound

What we do

The Environmental Protection Act empowers the Agency to oversee the environmental activities of all persons and businesses. The Agency is regulatory with the authority to grant or not grant permits for developmental project that will impact on the environment.

As a regulator, the Agency is also required to monitor activities of development and to enforce the provisions of the EP Act 1996 and the Environmental Regulations. The work of the EPA is organized into technical programme areas, supported by the Operations and Corporate, Human Resources, Finance and Communications Departments.
