The Sales Assistant / Porter supports the sales and distribution team by assisting with order preparation, loading and unloading deliveries, organizing stock, and ensuring timely and accurate product distribution to customers. This role combines customer service, warehouse support, and physical handling of goods.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or retail is an advantage.
Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks.
Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Valid driver’s license (if required by company).
Qualifications
High school certificate (preferred but not mandatory)
Prior experience as a porter, sales assistant, or general laborer (advantage)
Knowledge of retail safety practices
Ability to operate pallet jacks or trolleys (training can be provided)
Sales Support
Assist sales representatives with order picking and preparation.
Help process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Communicate stock availability to the sales team.
Provide basic customer service during deliveries
Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
Pack and prepare goods for dispatch.
Arrange and organize stock in the truck.
Ensure proper handling of products to avoid damage.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the truck.
Accompany drivers on delivery routes when required.
Assist in verifying delivered goods with customers.
Obtain proof of delivery signatures where necessary.
Ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
