The Mechanical Technician must have industrial mechanical experience and will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all on-site mechanical equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent (Minimum)
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Certificate of completion in an apprenticeship program, or journeyman experience
Knowledgeable in mechanical tools and parts.
Ability to understand mechanical schematics and other technical documents.
Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks and long shift in cases of emergency.
Must have knowledge of tools such as wrenches, pliers, bolts, flanges, shaft, rotating parts, oil gun and power hands appliances.
Knowledge about pumps and gearbox systems
Analytical profile for troubleshooting mechanical problems in rotation systems (vibration. Temperature and alignment).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Perform all tasks assigned by the Maintenance/Mechanical Lead alongside the Maintenance
Senior; supporting every step of the procedure done on the equipment and in the fluid/material lines.
Procure the tools/ materials and ensure the safety protocols are met before a job is executed
Ensure a hot work permit and LOTO are completed before the job commences.
Perform housekeeping in and around the work area. This includes cleaning the work area before and after a task is performed, ensuring tools and equipment are stored and maintained properly.
Maintain compliance with company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policies in every step of work procedure.
