Description

A bartender is responsible for managing bar inventory, ensuring responsible alcohol service, preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and interacting with customers.

Requirements

  • Customer Service: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Beverage Knowledge: Knowledge of different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, drink recipes, and mixing techniques.

  • Bar Operations: Ability to handle bar equipment, maintain a clean and organized bar area, and manage inventory.

  • Responsibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and make responsible decisions regarding alcohol service.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items, and reach and bend.

  • Experience: Previous bartending or customer service experience is often preferred.

  • Other: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Duties:

  • May contribute to daily, holiday, and theme drink menus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, shots, beer, wine, and spirits.

  • Take beverage orders from customers or waitstaff.

  • Interact with customers to provide a positive and friendly experience.

  • Check identification to verify legal drinking age.

  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area.

  • Manage bar inventory, including stocking and ordering supplies.

  • Prepare and maintain beverage garnishes and bar supplies.

  • Ensure responsible alcohol service by monitoring customers for intoxication and refusing service when necessary.

  • May prepare and serve food items at the bar.

  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
