Java Coffee Bar seeks Breakfast Cooks for early shifts starting at 5 AM. Responsibilities include preparing diverse breakfast items, maintaining food safety, and efficient kitchen operation. Culinary skills and early morning availability required.


1. Culinary Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; a culinary degree or certificate from a recognized culinary school is preferred but not always necessary.

2. Cooking Experience: Experience in a professional kitchen, particularly in breakfast or short-order cooking, is highly valued.

3. Knowledge of Cooking Techniques: Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures relevant to breakfast items.

4. Food Safety Certification: Possession of or ability to obtain a food handler's card or food safety certification, depending on local regulations.

5. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen environment.

6. Time Management Skills: Proficiency in managing time effectively, especially during rush hours, to ensure timely and efficient service.

7. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail for food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

8. Teamwork Skills: Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other kitchen staff.

9. Communication Skills: Good communication skills for interacting with team members and, occasionally, with customers.

10. Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment

2. Ensuring Food Quality: Maintaining high standards of food quality and freshness, and adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols.

3. Efficient Cooking: Managing multiple orders simultaneously, especially during busy morning hours, to ensure efficient and timely service.

4. Kitchen Equipment Use: Proficiently using kitchen equipment like grills, stoves, and ovens for food preparation.

5. Food Presentation: Plating and presenting breakfast dishes in an appealing manner.

6. Inventory Management: Assisting in inventory tracking, including stocking and ordering kitchen supplies and ingredients.

7. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the kitchen area clean and organized, complying with health and safety standards.

8. Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation.

9. Adhering to Recipes: Following established recipes and cooking techniques for consistency in food quality.
