We are currently seeking a Business Support Specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 

  • Proven experience in business analysis, financial management, and strategic planning. 

  • Strong understanding of the Guyanese business environment, particularly for SMEs and women entrepreneurs. 

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. 

  • Knowledge of financial literacy and investment processes. 

  • Experience in program management and risk assessment is a plus. 

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting gender equity and women's empowerment. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of the business models of women-owned SMEs to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. 

  • Evaluate the financial viability of the businesses and their readiness for investment. 

  • Provide strategic guidance to women entrepreneurs on business growth, financial management, marketing, and compliance with legal requirements. 

  • Develop tailored business growth strategies for individual SMEs based on their specific needs and challenges. 

  • Monitor the progress and performance of supported SMEs, ensuring they meet predefined criteria for accessing the Bankability Fund. 

  • Work closely with the Steering Committee to ensure compliance with program guidelines and objectives. 

  • Collaborate with program partners to deliver training programs such as Road to Growth and Road to Finance to women entrepreneurs. 

  • Offer ongoing mentoring and coaching support to help SMEs implement learned strategies effectively. 

  • Identify potential risks within the program and develop mitigation strategies. 

  • Implement a No-Harm policy to ensure that women entrepreneurs are protected from negative outcomes. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions with SMEs and program activities. 

  • Prepare regular reports on the progress, impact, and success of the Bankability Fund. 

  • Assist SMEs in the share repurchase process once they have achieved sustainability and bankability. 

  • Explore alternative exit options for SMEs, such as selling their businesses or mergers.
