The General Technician will provide technical and operational support for the inspection, preparation, servicing and maintenance of oilfield equipment. The position requires good technical ability, problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safe working practices. Experience with subsea equipment would be an advantage.
Technical or vocational training in mechanical, industrial or a related discipline is preferred.
Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in an oilfield, mechanical, marine or industrial environment.
Previous experience with subsea equipment is preferred.
Relevant technical and HSE certifications would be an asset.
Assist with the inspection, servicing and maintenance of oilfield equipment.
Support the assembly and disassembly of equipment and components.
Conduct routine equipment checks and identify wear, damage or defects.
Assist with equipment testing and preparation for operational use.
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
Use hand tools, power tools and technical equipment safely and appropriately.
Clean and maintain equipment and components.
Follow technical procedures, work instructions and equipment specifications.
Maintain records of work performed where required.
Report equipment faults, defects and unsafe conditions.
Follow all applicable HSE procedures and requirements.
Provide general technical and operational support as assigned.
