FIELD SERVICE AND DATA SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Position Overview

Job Location & Travel

·       Primary Location: Guyana South America

·       Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Office-based data analysis and administrative work combined with field deployments)

·       Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to onshore and Offshore facilities. Ports, marine terminals, to board vessels and client offices to attend shoreside meetings.

Experience & Background Requirements

·       Professional Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant mechanical, electronic, electrical experience, data analyst

·       Maritime Exposure: Direct experience working onboard vessels, navigating engine room environments, or interfacing with ship crews and maritime operators.

·       Client-Facing History: Proven track record in a customer success, technical support, or account management role dealing with major energy companies or vessel owners.

·       Data Analysis Experience: Background in managing, cleaning, and interpreting technical data, fuel consumption data, or machinery automation data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·       Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, industrial software systems, and marine machinery.

·       Analytical Rigor: Ability to handle large datasets, identify operational trends, and translate raw numbers into actionable business intelligence.

·       Communication Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently present technical data to high-level corporate executives and communicate effectively with shipboard crews.

·       Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and advanced proficiency in data visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI.

Mobility & Safety: Willingness and physical ability to safely board marine vessels (via pilot ladders, launches, etc.), work in active engine rooms, and maintain necessary offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET/HUET, CA-EBS, UKOOA and relevant  immunizations

Key Responsibilities

Onboard Technical Support & Training

·       System Troubleshooting: Board marine vessels to diagnose, maintain, and resolve hardware and software issues within the Fueltrax system, including components located in the engine room.

·       Crew Education: Conduct comprehensive, hands-on training for vessel crews regarding system features, operations, and routine information recovery.

·       Field Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact during vessel visits to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system calibration.

Client Relations & Shoreside Support

·       Stakeholder Interfacing: Meet regularly with shoreside management, including ExxonMobil personnel and vessel owners, to provide dedicated system support.

·       Web Portal Advisory: Guide clients through the features of the Fueltrax web portal, ensuring they maximize the utility of their digital fleet management tools.

·       Collaborative Liaison: Partner closely with the support team in Houston, Texas to escalate complex technical issues and align on strategic client goals.

Data Analytics & Reporting

·       Daily Monitoring: Perform detailed, daily data reviews across all active fleet systems to guarantee data integrity and continuity.

·       Anomaly Investigation: Identify, investigate, and report any operational or data anomalies uncovered during routine daily reviews.

·       Efficiency Analysis: Analyze fleet-wide fuel consumption data and vessel operating parameters to uncover patterns and recommend strategic operational improvements.

·       Reporting & Visualization: Create impactful graphs, data reports, and executive presentations using Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Power BI, and other advanced, specialized reporting tools.
