Job Title: Procurement Assistant Clerk

Company: Trident Marine Trading Inc.

Location: Soesdyke, EBD (with daily travel to Georgetown)

Reports To: Head of Operations (HDO) / Procurement Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Preferably a male, ages 16 - 19

• Education: High School - CXC  or a related field.

• Experience: Prior experience in purchasing, clerk duties, retail, or inventory management is highly preferred.

• Tech Literacy: Must be highly proficient in operating mobile tablets (iOS/Android) and comfortable learning company-specific software quickly.

• Geographical Knowledge: Excellent familiarity with commercial areas, hardware stores, and vendor networks in Georgetown and the East Bank Demerara.

• Key Soft Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness (handling cash/cheques for purchasing).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Field Purchasing & Logistics:

  • Accompany the Procurement Driver to source, inspect, and purchase materials, parts, and supplies in and around the Georgetown area.

  • Ensure all purchases match the specifications and quality standards required by Trident Marine Trading Inc.

• Document Management:

  • Execute prompt and secure drop-offs and pick-ups of crucial office documents, invoices, and delivery slips between the main office, vendors, and clients.

• Vendor List Management:

  • Actively update existing vendor records to ensure contact details and pricing are accurate.

  • Identify and register new suppliers to expand the company’s sourcing network and ensure competitive pricing.

• Digital Recording & Technology:

  • Operate a company-issued tablet on the go to log transactions, track purchasing orders, and update inventory systems in real-time.
