Description
Operate straight edge-banding equipment.
* Operate curved/contour edge-banding equipment.
* Set up machinery according to material requirements.
* Select appropriate edge-banding material.
* Adjust machine settings for board thickness
Set glue temperature and operating parameters.
* Load and feed components safely.
* Monitor glue application.
* Ensure consistent edge-band adhesion.
* Operate trimming and scraping functions.
* Operate polishing functions where applicable.
* Inspect finished edges for defects.
* Identify glue marks, gaps, chips, scratches and uneven edges.
* Perform first-piece quality checks.
* Make minor machine adjustments.
* Change edge-band rolls as required.
* Monitor consumables.
* Notify the Production Manager when materials are running low.
* Clean glue pots, cutters and machine surfaces.
* Perform routine operator maintenance.
* Report machine faults.
* Maintain production records.
* Maintain a clean and safe workstation.
* Meet production and quality targets.
* Process curved and contoured cabinet components.
* Set the machine according to the required radius.
* Ensure correct machine settings for different board thicknesses.
* Monitor edge-band adhesion around curves.
* Produce consistent internal and external curved edges.
Requirements
*Previous edge-banding experience preferred.
* Cabinet-making or joinery experience advantageous.
* Knowledge of MDF, plywood, laminated boards and related materials.
* Good hand-eye coordination.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to identify finishing defects.
* Willingness to learn and operate multiple production machines.
Responsibilities
The Edge Bender Operator will operate Aura Manufacturing Inc.’s straight edge-banding and curved edge-banding machinery to produce high-quality finished edges on kitchen, cabinet, wardrobe and furniture components.
The operator will be responsible for machine setup, material preparation, edge-banding, trimming, finishing and quality inspection.
The straight edge-banding machine can process edge-band thicknesses of approximately 0.4–3 mm and material thicknesses of approximately 10–60 mm. Machine Configuration-Model.pdf
The curved edge-banding machine is designed for contouring and curved applications and supports edge-banding thicknesses of approximately 0.5–3 mm machine configuration.
