The Skilled Laborer is responsible for performing a wide range of construction-related tasks that require practical skill, accuracy, and safety awareness. This role supports the construction team by executing site work, assisting tradespeople, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards while adhering to safety regulations and project timelines.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in construction preferred.
Minimum [2–5] years of experience as a skilled laborer or similar role in the construction industry.
Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and safety practices.
Ability to operate common construction tools and small equipment (e.g., compactors, drills, saws).
Good physical stamina, strength, and coordination.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Perform skilled construction activities such as concrete placement, formwork, rebar tying, block laying, plastering, painting, or finishing work.
Assist in site preparation, excavation, grading, and other groundwork as directed.
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment safely.
Support tradesmen such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers with material handling and task execution.
Read and interpret simple construction drawings or work instructions under supervision.
Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized job site to promote safety and efficiency.
Follow site safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment defects to the supervisor immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
