The Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the company. The role includes recording and reconciling financial transactions, monitoring accounts receivable, preparing reports, processing payments, reconciling bank and electronic payment transactions, maintaining proper supporting documentation, and assisting with the preparation of financial information for management. The Accounts Officer will also be responsible for identifying discrepancies, ensuring that financial records are kept up to date, and supporting effective financial controls and accountability within the company.
CAT Level 2 qualification.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping or a similar financial role.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online.
Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, payments and receipts.
Prepare and process accounts receivable transactions.
Reconcile MMG transactions, online payments and other payment channels.
Verify financial transactions against invoices, receipts, payment records and other supporting documentation.
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and management accounts.
Identify and investigate discrepancies, errors or irregularities in financial records.
Monitor company expenses and ensure transactions are properly classified and recorded.
Support internal controls aimed at preventing financial leakage, errors and unauthorized transactions.
Provide financial information and reports to management as requested.
Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when required
