Ocean Aero is looking for a technically capable and hands-on Mission Operations Specialist to join its team in Guyana.
The Opportunity
The Mission Operations Specialist will support the safe and effective operation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of the Triton. The role will involve pre-mission preparation, vehicle programming and inspection, troubleshooting, post-mission data collection, field operations, demonstrations, and customer support. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and product support teams to identify and resolve operational issues and ensure missions are conducted safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Requirements
Minimum Technician’s Diploma or equivalent technical qualification from a recognized nstitution in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Marine, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Engineering Technology, or related field
Practical technical, maintenance, engineering, or field operations experience, with demonstrated troubleshooting skills
Ability to use tools/test equipment and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Experience in marine operations, small boats, autonomous systems, drones, or robotics would be an advantage
Valid driver’s license would be an asset

Ability to work independently in field and maritime environments
Working Environment
Hands-on field role involving vessel operations, outdoor work, and varying weather conditions
Requires physical mobility, including standing, climbing, bending, and lifting
May require travel within Guyana and occasional international travel, including extended periods away from the normal work location
Responsibilities
Operate, inspect and maintain autonomous marine vehicles during testing and field operations
Prepare vehicles for missions, including programming, configuration, testing, and equipment checks
Monitor vehicle performance, troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine repairs, upgrades, and installations
Download, review and document mission data, test results, maintenance activities, and operational issues
Interpret and follow technical procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals, and operating instructions
Support engineering teams, customer demonstrations and training while maintaining high standards of safety and operational readiness
