Job Purpose

The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, promoting, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental strategies and policies across JSB Investments Inc. This role ensures site safety compliance, leads hazard identifications and risk assessments, assists with HSE procurement and documentation, and ensures strict adherence to local and international occupational health and safety regulations.

●  Education: Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Environmental Science, Public Management, Engineering, or a related field.

● Certifications: Professional HSE credentials (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30-Hour, or ISO 45001/14001 internal auditor certification) are strongly preferred.

Experience

● 2 to 5 years of practical experience as an HSE Officer or Safety Coordinator in a fast-paced corporate, industrial, or project environment.

●  Able to understand hazard identification techniques and safety controls.

● Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and digital recordkeeping platforms.

● Strong verbal and written communication skills.

●Able to work well with a team.

●Ability to enforce safety policies firmly yet constructively with field workers and management alike.

1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification

●  Assist in developing, reviewing, and verifying the validity of Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and site Risk Assessments.

●  Conduct regular site walkthroughs and safety inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance behaviours.

●  Recommend and enforce practical risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions to eliminate work hazards.

2. HSE Administration & Document Control

●  Maintain meticulous hardcopy and softcopy records of all HSE documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and training logs.

●  Manage and maintain the HSE management system, ensuring all physical and digital safety files are audit-ready and compliant with regulatory bodies.

●   Draft incident investigation reports, safety bulletins, and regular HSE performance updates for management.

●   Coordinate with the IT Department to design and oversee the installation of safety signage across all locations.

3. Procurement & Supply Chain Support (HSE/FM)

●  Liaise with the Procurement Department to procure necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety machinery, and environmental supplies.

●  Follow up on placed orders for HSE goods and services to ensure timely delivery and deployment.

●  Verify that vendor safety products and third-party contractor services meet company safety standards and technical specifications.

4. Safety Training, Incidents, & Operations

● Conduct HSE inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors.

● Plan and deliver daily or weekly safety "toolbox talks" on operational hazards and best practices.

●  Lead incident/accident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

●  Regularly inspect, report on, and ensure that JSB Investments Inc. and all its locations maintain full compliance with EPA guidelines.
