Description

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, and production machines and equipment; check that all machines are in good working order; give support to the Plant Mechanic; maintain job performance, quality and house-keeping standards.

Requirements

Diploma from UG, GTI or GITC in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Industrial Engineering

  • Metal Work Engineering

    Or

    Technician Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

    2-3 Years of relevant work experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, metalwork or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble

  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • repair/replace defective parts and install special functional and structural parts in devices
