We are looking for a dedicated, analytical chemist to be responsible for the chemical division of our wastewater treatment plant and oversee the daily operation within the department to ensure product, client and personnel safety.
The chemist responsibilities will include preparing test solutions, analyzing hazardous and non-hazardous compounds and conducting quality control tests to ensure safe disposal and treatment of the client’s waste. The Chemist will conduct research and explore how processes and equipment may be improved while maintain a high level of productivity.
A bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field, would be an asset.
At least 2 years experience in scientific research and laboratory work
Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment.
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Good presentation, documentation, and reporting skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory skills would also be an asset
Strong technical skills.
Site visits and testing at client locations, while uplifting the client sample (s) to prepare it for testing.
Preparing test solutions, compounds, and reagents for testing, while advising and coordinating test procedures.
Determining chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of hazardous and non-hazardous compounds.
Evaluating and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards.
Preparing internal chemical reports of all product tested or treated
