The Welder assembles various parts by fusion using technical processes and suitable filler metal.
The Welder is working under the supervision of the Welder Foreman. He/She reports to the Worshop Manager.
CXC / O-Level or equivalent

Operation
• Defines his/her list of tasks.
o Analyzes the technical documents, construction drawings in order to prepare his work.
o Identifies the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) to be applied.
• Controls and validates the conformity of the grooves, angles or gap allowance and modifies them if required.
• Follows strictly the welding parameters within the range defined in the WPS.
• Performs a welding procedure using electric, gas, arc or other welding techniques.
• Applies the recommendations regarding the use of the welding consumables.
• Observes tests on performed welds.
• Verifies his/her own works.
• Foresee the risk of potential mechanical deformations.
• Takes the required actions to ensure the conformity of his welds.
• Reports any concerns or issues to his management.
Equipment
• Cleans and stores the used equipment.
• Notifies to his/her management all defective material for immediate repair or substitution.

SECONDARY DUTIES
• Could be involved in rigging operations for the lifting of the multiple parts.
• Must be able to realize the grooves, angles or gap allowance with respect to the WPS to prepare for welding.
• May be required to perform Metal Worker’s activities.
