The Commercial and Business Development Manager will take the lead on business acumen, tendering for new business contracts, lead generation and business development pipeline management. This role is the primary point of contact for potential clients, and ensures every suitable business opportunity, RFI / RFQ engagement and proposal is captured, submitted and managed through the business development life-cycle. This role requires a high-impact self starter who is specialized in B2B Client Management and is prepared to travel and attend seminars, conferences and other networking events on behalf of the company.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who excels in business strategy, and client engagement, and who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly developing oil and gas sector.

Requirements

  • Applicable to Guyanese Nationals

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (Minimum requirement).

  • Further certification / training in corporate or business development is advantageous

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or commercial management; preference is given to experience within the recruitment, engineering and energy services sectors (3+ years’ experience minimum)

  • Strong negotiation skills and business commercial acumen.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly organized, data-driven, and experienced in managing complex sales pipelines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Email and CRM systems.

  • Understanding of Guyana’s Local Content framework is a strong asset.

  • Valid Guyanese Driver’s License is an asset

  • Able to travel for business assignments (conferences, seminars, presentations, business meetings etc.)

  • Confident, polished and possesses a savvy for networking and engaging with stakeholders from all levels

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the energy, engineering, and services sectors.

  • Strengthen and grow existing client relationships.

  • Prepare high-quality proposals, tenders, and presentations.

  • Monitor client project pipelines and upcoming market opportunities.

  • Generate and present internal reporting to leadership for strategic oversight

  • Create and present engaging portfolios, presentations and sales pitches to target organizations

Commercial Management

  • Lead tender submissions, RFQs, and commercial reviews.

  • Support pricing models, margin analysis, and commercial risk assessments.

  • Conduct strategic commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors in line with B2B financial models

  • Maintain accurate and compliant commercial documentation.

 Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Manage leads and opportunities through the company’s CRM portal throughout the sales cycle

  • Ensure accuracy in reporting and provide sales forecasts for leadership review.

  • Close leads appropriately (converted, unsuccessful, future potential) and set follow-up activities

 Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work with recruitment, operations, immigration, and payroll teams to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Act as the central liaison between clients and internal teams.

 Compliance & Market Intelligence

  • Ensure adherence to Guyana’s Local Content regulations and internal governance policies

  • Produce monthly reports on market trends, competitor insights, and opportunities.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to tailor strategic content for social media and traditional media outlets
