Job Summary

The Stores / Inventory Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and accurately tracking inventory items. The role ensures that stock levels are maintained, records are accurate, and materials are available to support daily operations while complying with company policies and procedures.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum CXC / Secondary School education (Mathematics and English preferred)

  • Certificate in Inventory Management, Warehousing, or Logistics is an asset

  • 1–3 years’ experience in stores, inventory, or warehouse operations preferred

  • Experience using inventory software

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders

  • Record all receipts, issues, and transfers of stock in the inventory system

  • Maintain accurate stock balances and update bin cards / system records

  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with monthly and annual inventory audits

  • Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items

Stores Operations

  • Properly store items according to safety and storage standards

  • Issue materials to authorized personnel against approved requisitions

  • Label, organize, and maintain orderly storage areas

  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are followed where applicable

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare inventory reports, stock movement logs, and variance reports

  • Maintain accurate filing of delivery notes, requisitions, and stock records

  • Assist with reorder level monitoring and stock replenishment requests

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company safety, security, and inventory control procedures

  • Ensure stores area is kept clean, secure, and compliant with standards

  • Report unsafe conditions, losses, or policy breaches immediately
