Are you a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive finance professional with experience in custom home building or project-based accounting? We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Specialist to manage financial operations, analyze performance metrics, and provide strategic insights to support business growth.

This role combines accounting, financial analysis, and QuickBooks operations—ideal for someone who enjoys both the transactional and analytical sides of finance.

Requirements

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in construction, real estate development, or project-based accounting.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting.

  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Knowledge of financial dashboards and KPI reporting.

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate books and manage month-end closing processes.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

  • Track and allocate costs to specific jobs/projects.

  • Assist with draw requests, lien waivers, and subcontractor payments.

  • Maintain WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules and job costing reports.

2. Financial Analysis & Planning

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

  • Prepare dashboards and KPI reports for leadership insights.

  • Analyze trends, costs, and profitability to identify process improvements.

3. Transactional Accounting & QuickBooks Operations

  • Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

  • Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
