The role of the Cashier is to be efficient and courteous in accepting payments from customers. The cashier must provide a receipt to all paying customers in a timely manner and be ready and willing to assist customers with specific payment queries.
To be the ideal candidate, you must have:
Five (5) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English Language
Proficient in MS Office Excel
Computer Literate
One (1) to Two (2) years’ experience in a Cashier’s role, preferably in the insurance industry
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the role of the Cashier, the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Customer Service
· Develop and maintain excellent Customer Relationships with both internal and external customers and assist with queries.
· Co-operate and support the company’s Customer Care initiatives.
· Provide feedback to customers where necessary.
Cashier – Primary Responsibilities
· Ensure daily receipting of payments received at Head Office and offsite locations experiencing difficulties.
· Ensure timely end of day balancing of head office receipts, changing of cashier dates on the insurance systems, including physical verification of the cash float – no overs and shorts
· Preparation of daily bank deposits and deposit slips for review
· Timely preparation of Daily Cash Summary for the Keate Street location
· Maintenance of log of all manual receipts and issued and actively follow up on replacement of the manual receipts.
· Ensure timely filing of all daily cash summaries, receipts, linx slips, deposit slips and other documentation such as G4S pick-up slips.
· Monitor inventory count of all deposit slip booklets and advise Supervisor on stock levels.
· Assist with Bank Entries and Cover sheets when necessary.
· Any other duties assigned.
