IT Technician (Soesdyke)

The IT Technician at JSB Investments is responsible for maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring all systems operate securely and efficiently. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, professionalism, and the ability to support both hardware and software environments.

• Diploma or associate degree in information technology, computer science, networking, or a related field.
  
  

• Certifications are an asset (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Technician, Cisco CCNA—optional but preferred).
  
  

• Recruiting: 1–3 years of hands-on IT support or helpdesk experience (preferred).
  
  

• Experience working in a corporate or multi-user environment is an asset.
  
  

• Demonstrated success handling multiple IT issues simultaneously.

• Provide first-level technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues across all locations.
  

• Recommend and assist with procurement of IT tools and technology upgrades.
  

• Be ready and able to diagnose and resolve system errors, connectivity issues, and performance problems. Install, configure, and update computer systems, printers, and peripheral devices.
  

• Respond promptly to IT helpdesk requests and maintain service logs.
  

• Coordinating with the multimedia content creator to produce content to market company vacancies, products, and services.
  

• Maintain antivirus, firewalls, and other protective measures.
  

• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and collaborate with the HR department to track assets being issued to all employees.
  

• Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery systems are functioning.
  

• Monitor for unauthorized access, malware, or potential breaches.
  

• Assist in the implementation of new technology projects and system upgrades.
  

• Coordinate with external IT vendors for repairs, installations, and technical support.
  

• Participate in the planning and execution of IT-related improvements and integrations.
  

• Ensure compliance with company IT policies and relevant data protection laws.
  

• Research and recommend new tools or technologies to improve operations
