We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Steward to support our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Food Safety or HACCP certification is an advantage (can be trained on the job)
Work Experience:
Previous experience in a stewarding, dishwashing, or cleaning role is preferred
Experience working in hotels, restaurants, or commercial kitchens is a plus
Willingness to learn and follow instructions is more important than prior experience
Working Condition:
This position may require early morning, evening, and weekend shifts based on operational needs.
A fast-paced kitchen environment; may involve standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
Full time position
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Washing dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, and pans.
Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and grills.
Maintaining the cleanliness of floors, walls, and other kitchen surfaces.
Ensuring adherence to hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
Inventory and Stock Management:
Assisting with the unloading and storage of deliveries.
Checking inventory levels and restocking supplies as needed.
Maintaining organized storage areas.
General Kitchen Support:
Assisting chefs and other kitchen staff with various tasks.
Operating dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment.
Disposing of trash and waste properly.
Sweeping and mopping floors.
Other Duties:
Communicating kitchen needs to supervisors.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
