The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall planning and execution of maintenance activities across Cevons’ fleet, equipment, machinery, and workshop operations. This role ensures maximum fleet uptime, cost-effective repair strategies, equipment reliability, and strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.
The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership to the mechanical team, oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manages workshop resources, and supports operational teams across all business units including Garbage Collection, Portable Toilets, Skips, MRF, Wastewater, Hazardous Waste, and Yard Operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, fleet management, or heavy-equipment maintenance.
Proven leadership experience managing workshop teams.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance operations efficiently.
Experience in waste management, construction, logistics, or utilities is an asset.
Strong computer skills (maintenance logs, inventory systems, reporting).
Knowledge of HSE requirements and mechanical safety standards.

Maintenance Leadership & Planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) program for all vehicles and equipment.
Plan daily and weekly maintenance schedules in alignment with operational needs.
Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance planning.
Ensure rapid response to breakdowns and operational emergencies.
2. Fleet & Equipment Management
Oversee maintenance of:
Garbage trucks
Skip trucks
Service vehicles
Pickup trucks
MRF machinery (belts, conveyors, shredders, etc.)
Portable toilet equipment (pumps, pressure washers)
Yard equipment (forklifts, loaders)
Generators, tools, and heavy equipment
Track vehicle performance, availability, and repair history.
3. Workshop & Team Management
Lead and supervise mechanics, welders, technicians, and helpers.
Assign tasks, manage priorities, and ensure quality workmanship.
Train and mentor team members to develop technical capability.
Ensure proper use, storage, and inventory of tools and equipment.
4. Cost Control & Inventory
Monitor and manage maintenance costs, including labor, parts, and external service providers.
Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, tires, lubricants, and critical components.
Source parts cost-effectively and negotiate with suppliers.
Prepare monthly maintenance cost reports and budget forecasts.
5. Compliance, Reporting & Documentation
Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet legal, HSE, and regulatory standards.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inspection records, and service reports.
Prepare weekly and monthly performance KPIs, including:
Fleet uptime
Breakdown frequency
Cost per kilometer/hour
PM compliance rate
