Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor in an underground mining environment.
Strong technical knowledge of surveying equipment and software.
Proficiency with surveying instruments.
Ability to interpret maps, boundaries, and topographic data.
Leadership and team management skills.
Understanding of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Establish legal property lines to prevent disputes and guide ownership.
Conducting surveys to gather information on the size, shape, and location of underground mines.
Developing and maintaining detailed maps of mine to track changes and identify areas for improvement.
Calculating volumes and tonnages of mined materials to ensure accurate reporting and inventory management.
Implementing and maintaining survey equipment and software to ensure accurate and efficient measurements.
Working closely with the mine operations and engineering teams.
Provide precise measurements and reference points for roads, bridges, pipelines, and buildings.
Measure large areas of the earth’s surface for scientific and infrastructure purposes.
Chart bodies of water for navigation, resource management, and construction.
Interpret measurements using CAD, GIS, and other digital tools to create usable outputs.
Prepare reports and records used in property ownership, disputes, and government registries.
Ensure surveys meet legal, environmental, and safety requirements.
Work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and government agencies to support project success.
