Description

The Front Desk Associate is responsible for delivering courteous, efficient, and professional guest service at the front desk. This role serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out experience while supporting the hotel’s operational and revenue objectives.

Minimum One year of hospitality experience

Responsibilities

Guest Services

Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure

Perform check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently

Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns

Handle guest complaints with professionalism and escalate when necessary

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction at all times

Front Office Operations

Manage room reservations, cancellations, and modifications

Operate the Property Management System (PMS) and maintain accurate guest records

Handle room allocations, key issuance, and room status updates

Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure room readiness

Monitor daily arrivals, departures, and room availability

Cashiering & Administration

Process guest payments, invoices, and refunds accurately

Handle cash, credit card, and billing transactions as per hotel policy

Balance shift cash reports and submit end-of-day documentation

Maintain proper filing and front desk records

Sales & Revenue Support

Upsell rooms and hotel services when appropriate

Promote hotel facilities, services, and local attractions

Assist with corporate, walk-in, and group bookings

Compliance & Standards

Follow hotel policies, brand standards, and SOPs

Ensure guest data confidentiality and security

Adhere to health, safety, and security procedures

Required Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred

Previous front desk or customer service experience (hotel experience an advantage)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in English (additional languages an asset)

Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel PMS systems

Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Professional appearance and positive attitude

Working Conditions

Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Ability to stand for extended periods
