Stone Sales Clerk

The Stone Sales Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with product inquiries, processing sales orders, maintaining accurate inventory information, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the sales department. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn product specifications in the stone and construction materials industry.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in sales or business is an asset.

• Previous experience in retail sales, construction materials, or a related industry preferred.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to learn and accurately explain product details and specifications.

• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS or inventory software.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

• Greet and assist walk-in customers, contractors, and vendors with product selection and general inquiries.

• Provide knowledgeable information on stone types, sizes, pricing, availability, and product applications.

• Process sales orders, invoices, and payments using the company’s point-of-sale and inventory systems.

• Maintain organized sales records, customer files, and transaction logs.

• Coordinate with warehouse and yard personnel to arrange product loading, deliveries, and pickups.

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.

• Prepare and update price sheets, product catalogs, and promotional materials.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales counter and showroom area.

• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.

• Support general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
