The Laundry Attendant is the primary on-site staff member responsible for executing all aspects of the Wash-and-Fold service, which includes meticulous handling, processing, and quality control of customer laundry. This role ensures garments are cleaned according to best practices and customer instructions while maintaining a professional environment.
Experience: Proven ability to function in a detailed service role; prior professional laundry experience is a significant advantage but not required.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of garment care labels, different fabric types, and chemical use (detergents, stain removers).
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to ensure quick turnaround on wash-and-fold orders
Sorting & Preparation (The Core of Garment Care):
Separate laundry loads meticulously by color (whites, lights, darks) and fabric type (towels/denim, knits, delicates) to prevent color bleeding, pilling, and damage.
Pre-Treat Stains: Apply appropriate stain-removal agents to heavily soiled or stained items using specific spotting techniques before the main wash cycle.
Washing & Extraction:
Select the Correct Formula: Choose the appropriate wash cycle, water temperature (cold, warm, hot), and spin speed based on the fabric type and garment care labels.
Measure and Dispense Chemicals: Accurately measure and load the correct amount of commercial-grade or customer-specified detergent, bleach, and/or fabric softener.
Operate Equipment: Load washing machines to the proper capacity (avoiding overloading) and start the cycle, monitoring for any leaks or operational issues.
Drying & Finishing:
Promptly transfer wet laundry to the dryer.
Set the Drying Cycle: Select the correct drying temperature (e.g., low heat for delicates, high heat for towels) and cycle time to prevent shrinkage and damage.
Prevent Wrinkling: Remove dry items immediately and begin the folding/hanging process.

Maintain the highest level of cleanliness in all areas (machines, folding tables, etc.).
Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning dryer lint traps between every load, wiping down machine exteriors, and restocking supplies.
