CNC Machinist Trainee

As a CNC Machinist, you bring value to GKB by safely and efficiently producing error-free parts so that customer satisfaction with our products will be the highest in the industry.

• High School Graduate or CSEC or Trade School or read and write

• Minimum 3 months industry experience

·       Learn to operate a CNC lathe machine that has already been setup (supervised)

·       Basic face, turn, and bore of parts (supervised)

·       Learn tooling geometry and carbide grades

·       Make offsets (supervised)

·       Visual inspection of parts per required specifications (supervised)

·       Learn to use basic measurement instruments (supervised)

·       Maintain traceability of product during manufacturing

·       Meet or exceed all key performance Indicators and the corresponding non-conformance offset measurements

·       Documentation as required

·       Report non-conformances

·       Introduction to G-codes

·       Perform weekly machine preventive maintenance

·       Participate in and perform pre-job reviews

·       Follow the requirements of GKB’s safety program

·       After a predetermined length of training, the trainee must be able to graduate to Level 1 Machinist.

·       Other helper duties as assigned
