Health and Safety Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees and stakeholders.

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar HSSE role, preferably in the industrial, construction, or energy sector.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field would be an asset.

• Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH or equivalent is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations and standards applicable in Guyana.

• Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures, and programs.

• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; compile reports and recommend preventative measures.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant local HSSE laws and international standards.

• Organize and deliver HSSE training sessions and safety drills.

• Maintain accurate records of HSSE statistics, incidents, inspections, and training.

• Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams on HSSE matters.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
