Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Officer to lead growth initiatives for our trucking and logistics  department, with a focus on the construction and infrastructure sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and client acquisition, proven experience in business development, and a working knowledge of construction logistics and materials transport.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).

  • 2–5 years of business development or sales experience, ideally in trucking, logistics, transportation, or construction services.

  • Knowledge of construction industry logistics needs (e.g., aggregates, heavy equipment transport, material delivery timelines).

  • Proven ability to hit sales targets and build client relationships.

  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-starter with high energy, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in trucking, haulage, and materials delivery—especially with construction companies, contractors, and infrastructure firms.

  • Generate leads and convert prospects into long-term clients through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and actively manage the CRM for tracking opportunities and follow-ups.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with construction firms, developers, and government project leads.

  • Collaborate with the operations and dispatch team to ensure seamless execution and service delivery.

  • Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and construction project developments in the region.

  • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals aligned with profitability goals.

  • Provide feedback to internal teams on service improvements and client requirements.
