Description

The Customer Service Representative (Stores) accompany customers and provide any assistance needed during shopping. Ensures that the customer is adequately informed and aware of product characteristics and offerings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar capacity as well as experience in a retail environment.

  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours including weekends and additional hours.

  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Polite, friendly, helpful, confident, and persuasive ability.

  • Basic understanding of sales and customer service practice.

  • Knowledge of basic features and benefits of the product line.

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

  • Move and handle boxes of merchandise throughout the store which entails lifting etc.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet Customers when they enter your Dept. do not stand with your back to them.

  • Ensures that products are adequately displayed and shelves are fully stocked.

  • Keep your department clean and tidy at all times. Wipe shelves and products daily.

  • Ensure all items have a price tag stating the Code, Item number, Retail & Wholesale prices, if it is zero rated or vat inclusive, size, quantities and any other info that can be helpful to customer.

  • Write up in a timely manner for goods to replenish the shelves.

  • If you did not receive an item that you write up for, notify your Supervisor.

  • You are responsible for displaying your products in an attractive manner.

  • If the bond clerk notifies you that a product is finished or near to finish, notify a Supervisor and give them a sample of the item, so that it can be reordered.

  • Ascertain Customers’ needs and wants and provide recommendations/substitutes.

  • Recommend items to Customers by highlighting features and benefit.

  • Provide direction by taking customer to where they can find the required item (do not Point)

  • Ensure that your department has adequate shopping baskets.

  • Assist customers in acquiring a basket or trolley to place their items in.

  • Assist customers by giving direction to the checkout process.

  • Ensure high level of customer service through the sales process.

  • Keep up to date with product information.

  • Follow Company policies and procedures.

  • You will be asked to assist in other departments if they are busy.

  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
