The Sales Supervisor is responsible for leading the sales floor team to achieve sales targets, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain visual merchandising standards. This role involves daily staff supervision, coaching, inventory coordination, and driving in-store promotions to enhance the customer experience and maximize revenue.
3+ years experience in retail sales, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for sales tracking.
1. Sales & Performance Monitoring
Supervise daily sales activities and drive team to meet or exceed individual and store targets.
Monitor key sales metrics (e.g., foot traffic conversion, average basket size, units per transaction).
Guide team on upselling, bundling, and product knowledge to increase revenue.
Provide daily sales reports to management.
2. Customer Service & Complaint Handling
Ensure all customers receive timely, professional, and courteous service.
Handle escalated customer concerns or complaints promptly and diplomatically.
Monitor staff-customer interactions and provide feedback to improve service standards.
3. Staff Supervision & Development
Supervise floor staff (Sales Associates, Cashiers, Stock Clerks) during shifts.
Conduct daily staff briefings, delegate duties, and ensure floor coverage.
Train new hires and conduct on-the-floor coaching to improve staff performance.
Monitor punctuality, appearance, and adherence to company policies.
4. Inventory Coordination
Coordinate with Inventory Clerks to ensure shelves are stocked and displays are neat.
Alert relevant departments on low-stock items, fast-movers, and damaged goods.
Assist in receiving and tagging of new stock when needed.
5. Store Presentation & Merchandising
Ensure promotional displays and planograms are implemented according to head office guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of the sales floor.
6. Cash Handling & End-of-Day Duties
Supervise POS transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Assist with cash count, till reconciliation, and deposit preparation at day-end.
Ensure all credit card, gift card, and voucher processes follow standard operating procedures.
