Description

The Store supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the staff & store.Responsibilities include scheduling staff and assisting in management of all areas of store operations as needed, merchandising, restocking, inventory control, balancing of cashiers and ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the store.

Requirements

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education:

·       At least five (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of Grades 1 to 3 in Mathematics, English and Accounts

·        Diploma/Degree in related field would be an asset

Experience: 3 years or more experience managing a small store in retail environment

Essential Skills: Must have strong customer service skills, Leadership skills and adaptability.

Job Conditions

Will be spending 100% working hours in MVP Sports, however will need to provide support for other locations as needed.

The job requires moderate physical activities.

 

Responsibilities

1.     Responsible for ensuring sales targets are met

2.     Responsible for preparing weekly shift schedules, scheduling staff day offs, and ensuring all staff are being informed in a timely manner.

3.     Monitor, assess and discipline staff on their job performance, make recommendation when staff are not performing duties and work closely with the Personnel Department to ensure proper documentation of staff performance.

4.     Oversee that all staff comply with company policies and standards.

5.     Must be equipped with the knowledge of the Five Selling Steps and Sales Techniques from the Sales RX Training to ensure it’s followed all times.

6.     Responsible for liaising with management on sales and marketing activities, and communicating to all staff in a clear manner.

7.     Ensuring all sales & promotional activities is advertise and highlighted in store effectively.

8.     Provide on the job training in areas of customer service, sales techniques and product knowledge to ensure all staff have the necessary skills to perform their duties efficiently.

9.     Help solve problems that affect the store’s service, efficiency and productivity.

10.  Must be committed to providing a high level and quality customer service.

11.  Ensuring there is accountability for results among all staff.

12.  Creating a positive environment that motivates and inspires team members.

13.  Establishing clear goals and weekly objectives, and ensuring they are accomplished.

14.  Facilitate open communication among team members to ensure everyone works together effectively and efficiently.

15.  Recognizing success when they occur to maximize creativity and productivity.

16.  Providing constructive feedback and coaching in ensuring the team meets its goals and objectives.

17.  Ensure when absent that work is planned out and given to next senior in a clear and professional manner.

18.  Ensuring the store is fully staffed, clean and organized at all times.

19.  Responsible for opening and closing of the store.

Merchandising, Restocking and Inventory control

1.     Knowledgeable and experienced with market trends i.e Brand Names/Styles, latest products, prices so as to make recommendations and work along with Store operations manager to execute.

2.     Ensure the store is merchandise efficiently at all times according to seasons and product availability.

3.     Evaluate merchandise and make recommendation to store operations manager for sale items and further price reductions

4.     Ensuring once price is changed that all merchandise barcodes and prices are updated.

5.     Ensuring all bonds are properly packed and organized. Merchandise must be bar-coded and price tagged before displayed in the store.

6.     Responsible for inventory control which includes performing stock counts on perpetual basis to ensure stock levels are accurate.

7.     Checking off of merchandise received in store accurately.

8.     Updating inventory daily to ensure website inventory and bond inventory is accurate.

9.     Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory level of merchandise to support daily sales, when inventory runs low work along closely with store operations manager to ensure re-order in a timely manner.

10.  Preparation of purchase orders for local purchases, which includes contacting supplier confirming prices and reorder quantities.

11.  Ensuring all damaged items are reported to store operations manager in a timely manner and written off according to store procedures.

Any other task as assigned from time to time from management.
