Description

The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This includes working on engines, brakes, transmissions, air conditioning systems, and other vehicle systems

Requirements

  • Completion of an advanced automotive program from GTI or another accredited vocational institution.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in modern automotive repairs and diagnostics.

  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex technical issues.

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality repairs with attention to detail and adherence to Toyota’s quality standards.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members and service staff.

  • Ability to manage workload efficiently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic service environment.

  • Must be physically capable of lifting, bending, and working in physically demanding situations for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle concerns using Toyota approved diagnostic tools and software.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and safety inspections in accordance with Toyota Maintenance Schedules.

  • Repair or replace damaged, worn, or faulty components including engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical modules, ensuring alignment with Toyota repair guidelines.

  • Execute advanced repairs such as hybrid system servicing, transmission rebuilds, and electronic system diagnostics.

  • Utilize specialized Toyota equipment and service tools to ensure precise and efficient repair and calibration.

  • Follow Toyota Service Bulletins (TSBs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manufacturer repair manuals.

  • Complete accurate and detailed job cards, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostics performed.

  • Clearly explain technical repairs and service recommendations to the Service Advisor when necessary.

  • Remain current with Toyota-specific training programs, certification requirements, and emerging automotive technologies.

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by Management to support service operations.
