Provides professional accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Manager to facilitate efficient and effective operations. Supervises Accounting Clerks. Maintains and supports effective staff and customer relationships.
Level II of a professional accounting body, ACCA, CGA, CMA, or accounting degree.
Two years minimum accounting experience at a senior clerical level, including using accounting software Dynamics GP or others (QuickBooks, ACCPAC, etc.).
Advanced Excel certification.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a service environment.
Provides accurate and timely accounting services, including:
Maintaining accounts receivable and payable.
maintaining inventory
reviewing invoices
writing and posting journal entries and maintaining JE Control Log
compiling monthly financial statements
reconciling bank accounts
preparing statutory returns
preparing reports
Assists with cash management, ensuring all deposits agree to deposit summaries; following up on collectables, and preparing weekly bank account summaries.
Prepares statistical information as required.
Assists the Manager in preparing month-end closing, including preparation and/or analysis of Balance Sheet accounts.
Updates accounts payable, pays suppliers, reconciles balances, and investigates and follows up on payables and receivables.
Confirms intercompany balances with other markets and provides supporting documentation.
Prepares banking documents and performs banking transactions.
Assists with Agent Accounting duties and training.
Pays wages and salaries.
Performs any other functions as required to ensure or facilitate the effective and efficient operations of the company.
