Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Janitor Shift Supervisor to oversee the janitorial staff and ensure that all cleaning operations are performed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all building occupants.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in facilities management or related fields preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in janitorial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20-40 lbs, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive motions.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of janitorial staff during assigned shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for new employees on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage; foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Quality Control: Perform regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and address any deficiencies promptly.

  • Scheduling: Create and manage shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and adjusting as needed based on facility requirements.

  • Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment; order and restock supplies as necessary.

  • Communication: Act as a liaison between janitorial staff and management; effectively communicate expectations, concerns, and feedback.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to safety policies and procedures; conduct safety training and maintain records of compliance.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning tasks performed, staff attendance, and any incidents or issues that arise during shifts.

  • Assistance: Step in to perform cleaning tasks as needed and assist with special projects or events.
