Description

We are seeking a skilled and organized Maintenance Coordinator / Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and performance of our heavy machinery and equipment fleet. This role will ensure effective communication between mechanics, service teams, and the field supervisor, maintaining accurate records, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Work Days are Monday-Saturday. Timing is 8-5pm

Requirements

1. Education and Technical Knowledge

  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree may be preferred but is not essential.

  • Certification in heavy equipment maintenance, automotive repair, or relevant areas (e.g., ASE certification or equivalent for heavy equipment).

  • Knowledge of Fleet Management Systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software), with experience in tracking and documenting maintenance work.

2. Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, heavy equipment management, or a similar role in construction, logistics, or a related field.

  • Supervisory experience with mechanics or field service teams is highly desirable, as it indicates an ability to oversee personnel and manage workflows.

  • Experience with Safety and Compliance regulations related to heavy machinery and equipment maintenance.

3. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills to manage maintenance schedules, track equipment performance, and maintain detailed records.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities for identifying and addressing equipment and mechanical issues, along with an ability to implement proactive maintenance strategies.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills to work effectively with mechanics, service personnel, and the field supervisor, ensuring clear instructions, guidance, and follow-ups.

  • Attention to Detail in monitoring equipment conditions and ensuring that reports are complete and accurate.

  • Basic Financial Acumen to assist in budgeting and cost-tracking for maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.

4. Technical Proficiency

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software commonly used in equipment maintenance.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and any maintenance management software (e.g., Fleet Complete, ManagerPlus, or similar).

5. Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in environments with heavy machinery, spending time both in the field and in an office setting.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours if necessary, including responding to urgent maintenance needs during off-hours.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Act as the primary point of contact for mechanics and service personnel, ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled and recorded accurately.

  • Implement Reporting Procedures: Establish and enforce a standardized reporting system to track maintenance, repairs, inspections, and any issues with the equipment. This would provide clear, up-to-date information for the supervisor and management.

  • Track Equipment and Machinery Status: Maintain an up-to-date log of each piece of equipment, including usage, condition, and any recent repairs, helping to predict and prevent issues before they become major problems.

  • Assist the Field Supervisor in Monitoring Performance: Work closely with the field supervisor to identify issues, gather detailed feedback on equipment performance, and ensure that repairs or adjustments are made promptly.

  • Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards: Monitor safety standards for all maintenance activities, ensuring that all machinery and equipment comply with regulations and company safety policies.

  • Coordinate with Inventory and Parts Management: Track necessary parts and inventory for maintenance to ensure mechanics have the resources they need, reducing downtime.
