Main responsibilities include collecting cash, managing accounts payable, preparing vouchers and Cheques. Entering data in an accounting software program.
· Five (5) subjects CXC/GCE inclusive of Mathematics, English & Accounts
· At least CAT Level one
. Must have at least 2 years working experience in an Accounting Department
. Accurate data entry skills
. Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
· Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
· Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
· Prepare daily sales report.
· Prepare cheque vouchers and payments.
· Coding cheque payment vouchers and ensuring cheques are properly signed.
· Filing of all cheque vouchers sequentially.
· Check all cash bills for correct pricing and computation including discounts.
· Preparing receipts and collecting cash for all credit customers making payments in Georgetown.
· Receive cash from the Cashier and Agronomist during the day for safekeeping and banking.
· Prepare cash and cheque deposits slips for all cash received on a daily basis for banking.
· Ensuring all cash and cheques received along with deposit slips prepared for banking are handed over to the junior accounts clerk the following day for rechecking.
· Ensuring that the cash and deposit slips checked off by the junior accounts clerk is handed over to the Finance Controller the same day.
· Maintain prompt payment of all bills when due and an exemplary credit reputation.
· Maintain and update the US Account manual ledger.
· Prepare sales report for all areas – monthly.
· Writing up of Cash Book – monthly.
· Balancing of the Cashier and posting all P.O.S transactions on a daily basis.
