Forklift Operator - Timehri

Laparkan Trading Limited is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Forklift Operator for its facility at Timehri.  

-          High School Diploma (CXC)

-          Forklift driving experience/certification a plus

-          Training or certification in warehouse operations or logistics is an asset.

-          Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in warehouse, stores, logistics, or inventory management (preferred)

-          Excellent Communication and analytical skills.

-          Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs), or in accordance with workplace health and safety guidelines.

-          Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.

-          Ability to work in varying weather conditions if duties include ramp or outdoor storage areas.

-          Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

-          Ability to work overtime when operational requirements demand.

• Operate forklifts

• Load and unload cargo, containers, pallets, and other freight from trucks and storage areas.

• Move, stack, and organize cargo within the warehouse and designated storage areas.

• Ensure cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, unloading, and transportation.

• Verify cargo labels, quantities, and documentation before moving or storing shipments.

• Assist with the receiving, sorting, staging, and dispatching of cargo.

• Maintain proper placement and organization of goods to maximize warehouse space.

• Conduct daily inspections of the forklift and report any mechanical defects or safety concerns immediately.

• Follow all company safety procedures, warehouse rules, and forklift operating guidelines.

• Ensure loads are properly secured and within the forklift's safe operating capacity.

• Report damaged cargo, discrepancies, or irregularities to the supervisor promptly.

• Work closely with warehouse staff, drivers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient cargo movement.

• Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the operation.
