Description

The Facilities Intern supports the Facilities team through engineering coordination, facilities management activities, project documentation, contractor administration, and operational support. This role provides hands-on exposure to facilities operations, maintenance processes, construction coordination, and infrastructure management. The successful candidate will contribute to initiatives that support the company's facilities and operational requirements while developing practical experience in a corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.

  • Experience preparing technical drawings, site sketches, or engineering documentation.

  • Basic understanding of construction, facilities management, maintenance operations, or infrastructure projects.

  • Exposure to project coordination or contractor management activities.

  • Interest in engineering, facilities operations, construction management, or infrastructure development.

Working Conditions

Office and field-based work environment.

Standard office equipment, engineering software, and Microsoft 365 applications will be used regularly.

The role requires a combination of desk-based administrative work and field visits for inspections, measurements, and project monitoring activities.

Regular interaction with contractors, service providers, and cross-functional teams across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with site visits, field measurements, inspections, and note-taking activities.

  • Prepare basic site sketches, project records, and operational documentation.

  • Update and maintain work order trackers and departmental records.

  • Assist with data entry, filing, and administrative coordination activities.

  • Follow up on assigned maintenance and facilities-related requests.

  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers for maintenance and small-scale projects.

  • Conduct material, equipment, and service cost research for Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

  • Support project calculations, reporting, and engineering documentation.

  • Assist with contractor administration and payment processing activities.

  • Participate in meetings, inspections, and operational discussions as assigned.

  • Support facility maintenance projects and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support departmental objectives.

  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of departmental records and documentation.

  • Support day-to-day facilities operations and special assignments as required.
