Description

Repair and maintain bakery machinery and equipment, such as ovens, conveyors, and slicing and packaging machines; maintain job performance, quality standards and house- keeping practices. 

Requirements

Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical Systems Faults on Equipment 

Or 

Certificate in Agricultural Mechanics.  

1-3 Years’ Experience in Diagnosing and Repairing Mechanical/ Electrical System Faults 

Responsibilities

  • Examine machines and equipment to locate causes of trouble.  

  • Dismantle machines, using wrenches, pliers, and other hand  tools.  

  • Replace defective parts, adjust timing gears, set dies according to specifications, and repair or replace belts, conveyor sections and feeding devices.  

  • Cut and install pipe and tubing for gas, water, air, and hydraulic lines, using wrench, cutting die, and threading device.  

  • Overhaul mechanical plant equipment. 

  • Sharpen and install cutting blades in slicing machine.  

  • Assemble machines and start machines and observe gauges and other instruments to ensure adherence to processing standards.
