Description

The Motor Claims Inspector will be responsible for inspecting vehicles, assessing accident damage and gathering information to support the timely and accurate processing of motor insurance claims.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects, including Mathematics and English.

  • Knowledge of motor vehicles, basic mechanics and vehicle repair procedures.

  • Previous experience in motor claims, vehicle inspections, automotive repairs or a related field would be an asset.

  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various locations, including out-of-town areas, to conduct inspections and investigations as required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

  • Good observation, investigation and report-writing skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

  • A responsible, reliable and punctual approach to work.

  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when required.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and site visits as required.

  • Assess and document vehicle damage, including taking clear photographs and preparing inspection reports.

  • Obtain statements and relevant information from policyholders, drivers, third parties and witnesses.

  • Review repair estimates and liaise with garages and service providers regarding proposed repairs and costs.

  • Identify and report inconsistencies or concerns requiring further investigation.

  • Submit accurate and timely findings and recommendations to the Claims Department.

  • Conduct follow-up inspections to verify repair progress and completion when required.

  • Maintain complete and organized inspection records.

  • Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates on inspection-related matters.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
